The church has sold a lot of people a very comfortable lie.
Show up on Sunday. Sit in the right pew. Say the right words. Wear the right clothes. Check the boxes. And somehow — somewhere in all of that — you're good with God.
But Jesus never said that.
In fact, He said the opposite.
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven." — Matthew 7:21
That's not a comfortable verse. That's not a Sunday morning feel-good moment. That's a warning — and it's aimed directly at religious people who thought they had it figured out.
Religion Is a System. Relationship Is Personal.
Religion gives you rules. Relationship gives you a Father.
Religion tells you what to do. Relationship transforms who you are.
Religion is performance. Relationship is surrender.
The difference isn't subtle. It's everything.
You can go to church your entire life and never actually know Jesus. You can memorize scripture, serve on committees, tithe faithfully — and still be operating out of obligation instead of love. Still be going through the motions. Still be, as Revelation 3:16 puts it, lukewarm.
And we know what Jesus says about lukewarm.

We live in a world that's done with empty religion — and rightfully so. People are walking away from churches in record numbers, not because they've rejected God, but because they've been handed a system when they were hungry for something real.
